Best College Admissions Essays

Best College Admissions EssaysIn the world of college admissions essays, there are three types of essays that make up the majority of the applicants. These are personal, analytical and research based. In this article I am going to focus on personal essays. The great thing about the personal essays is that they are written based on the personality of the student who is writing it. In other words, the essay can be written by someone with a conservative personality, someone who likes to live life to the fullest, or someone who enjoys the more challenging task of an essay. An example of a personal essay would be a high school senior writing a paper to describe why they love what they do. In most cases, the student may not have any background in the topic, so a friend of the family member can fill in the gaps for them. The better their work is, the better their college admissions essay will be.A similar situation would occur if the student was applying to college but did not know what major s they wanted to major in. A great resource to use is a course catalog from the college that they are currently attending. Using this information, the student can determine which class interests them and write about that. One of the best tools to use in writing a good essay is having a list of topics that you enjoy talking about. You do not have to mention these topics in your essay, but using them as a guide, will make it easier to write the essay. Other writers use the lists as a way to categorize topics they enjoy talking about and then just take care of them in the essay.Another way to use this information is to find a topic you love and research it. If you like soccer, for example, find a sport that interests you that you know little about, and research the history behind it. This'll give you something to talk about and may get you noticed by a college admissions committee that is looking for fresh and unique ideas. One of the biggest problems with essays is how many writers cram their thoughts down into one paragraph. While you may be in a rush to finish the essay, have it out quickly. As a writer, you need to stop and reflect on what you are saying and why you feel it should be written down.Choosing the right college is not always easy, but if you are truly passionate about a subject, then you are ready to move forward. By spending time reading the courses you will be taking, and finding a topic that you know a lot about, you will have a better chance of passing your college admission essay. Remember, college is for growing and if you do not learn what you need to know, the college admissions committee will pass you by.
