Humbert Humbert Humbert Humbert in the book Lolita is the type of person who will do anything to satisfy his needs. When Humbert is institutionalize in an insane asylum he toys with the doctors. Once he got to a certain age Humbert felt like he needed to experience married to suppress his sexual desires, so he did. Later on Humbert realizes the only way he can be with Lolita is by marrying her mother, Charlotte. later Hubert loses his nurse on Lolita he gets the need to get revenge on the person who has taken Lolita from him. A person can grow up into being a very needy person or soul who always needs to be in control by how they argon raised and their surroundings. The second instance of Humbert goes into a mental asylum he manipulates the doctors making them believe false diagnoses. He gets a certain gladness from tricking the doctors. Humbert describes the joyI discovered there was an endless source of hardy enjoyment in trifling with psychiatrists cunningly leading them o n never letting them see that you know all the tricks of the trade, inventing for them elaborate dreams teasing them with malingerer primal scenes (Nabokov 34)He goes to certain extremes to satisfy his wants. Humbert goes as far as bribing a nurse so he can see that the doctors were misdiagnosing him. This endure and forth with the doctors was nothing more than a game for Humber. This type of control was making him unfeignedly happy so he decided to wedge even longer than he needed to at the insane asylum. The romp was so excellent, in results in my case so ruddy that I stayed on for a whole month after I was quite an well. And then I added another week just for the pleasure of fetching on a powerful newcomer.
